Getting Her Pink Back: Tracey's Necklace With Meaning
One of the things I love most about what I do is when someone comes to me with a vision that's entirely their own. Not just a necklace they want made, but a feeling they want to hold onto. Something they can wear on the hard days and the good days, that means something only they fully understand.
The beautiful Tracey Murray came to me with exactly that.
What drew you to this piece?
"I wanted a necklace that represents the mother I am, as well as the woman I am. Both things. Not one or the other."
Tell me about the charms and stones you chose.
"The charms are my children. The sun is for my two sons, and the Alexandrite charm is for my daughter, June is her birth month. As for the pink gemstones, each one was chosen for a reason.
Rhodochrosite for facing and healing old emotional wounds. Charoite for transformation through hard, uncertain seasons. Rose Quartz for choosing self-love and softness. Pink Tourmaline for emotional protection and the strength to stay open. Pink Malaysian Jade for calm, harmony, emotional regulation. Chalcedony for gentle communication and speaking from the heart."
Is there a deeper story behind the pink?
"I've always loved pink. But on a deeper level, this is a nod to flamingoes. Female flamingoes lose their pink when they're raising their babies, but slowly, they start to get it back. This is my reminder that I haven't lost myself."
How does the piece reflect where you are in motherhood right now?
"It reflects me coming out of the trenches. Getting my pink back, alongside my three children."
When you wear it, what do you want it to remind you of?
"How far I've come."

We carry so much as mothers, as women. The seasons we've survived, the versions of ourselves we've had to let go of and the ones we're slowly growing back into. Jewellery, at its best, holds all of that. A quiet, wearable reminder of the whole story, not just the highlight reel. That's what Tracey's piece is. And it's what I hope every piece I make becomes for the person wearing it.
As an ode to Tracey and her story, I am releasing a very limited number of these beautiful pink necklaces, The Nahla. A reminder of who you are and that you can always find your way back to yourself.
