I think about pearls differently to most gemstones. They're the only ones born from pressure, from something that wasn't meant to be there, slowly transformed into something extraordinary. When Kacie told me why she chose the Madison Necklace, I understood immediately why this piece was always going to be hers.
What drew you to this necklace?
"Initially the pearls, I've always loved pearls. I really like the different sizes, shapes and colours of the ones on the Madison. But more so, the added clasp for the charms is something that can hold sentiment and meaning. I really love jewellery that has meaning and purpose, that can represent and hold the most important people in my life."
Tell me about the charms you chose, what do they represent?
"Beauty, family and strength. It's a way for me to hold the special people in my life close to me, and remind myself of who I am. Becoming a first time mum to twins has been the biggest challenge and blessing I've faced in my life. It's made me into the best version of myself."
Is there a story or moment connected to your piece?
"I chose this necklace because it reminds me of how proud I am of learning not only to survive with twins, but to thrive. When I had my twins it felt extremely overwhelming and I suffered with postnatal anxiety. I never thought I'd be able to move through it, but I did. I cherish that motherhood has shaped me into the woman I only ever dreamed of. Much like the pearl, I managed to survive the pressure and come out shining."
How does it reflect where you are in motherhood right now?
"As a mother you are constantly learning and evolving. I had to learn quickly how to feed the twins and settle them at the same time, it was challenging and it didn't always go to plan. When we had our twins we were still renting in a tiny unit, building our first home. There wasn't a lot of room and we very quickly outgrew it."
When you wear it, what do you want it to remind you of?
"How far I've come, and what I still have to achieve. We've now sold our first home and are moving to the country to live a life we've always dreamed of."

There's something about the pearl that feels like the most honest metaphor for motherhood. Pressure, time, and something quietly transforming inside you until one day you realise you came out the other side of it shining. Kacie didn't just survive the hard season. She built a home, raised two humans at once, moved through anxiety she thought might swallow her and is now packing up for the life she always wanted. That's not just growth. That's a woman who knew her own worth, even when it was hard to see. This necklace is just the reminder she gets to wear every day.
